I have noticed that there seem to be a few people online who have very vivid premonitions of lost episodes being found, down to the very area. I had a very strong premonition that Day of Armageddon would be found, a few months later it was found. Maybe these glimpses at missing episodes being found are nothing but episode craved fans seeing things where they dont exist. Such as that rumored find of episode one of Marco Polo in a New Zealand garage sale! Anyone else have any premonitions of episodes being discovered?

yes "the tomb of the cybermen" about 1 year before, It happens quite a lot and I had something before about 4 weeks before the latest discovery, right now I feel that a late troughton will be discovered, all pure coincidence I'm (almost)sure, but you never know.

I don't want to get anyone's back up so please don't take offence at what I'm about to say. Is this how far the search for missing episodes has fallen, when people start talking about premonitions of discovering lost episodes?!? I have read quite a few threads on this forum latley that can in no way be seen as anything more than wild speculation at the least and more like pure fantasy-fuelled desperation. I am a massive Dr Who fan and would dearly love episodes to be returned, none more so than the Tenth Planet Ep 4 and The Power of The Daleks Ep 1, but I will not engage in preternatural postings in my frustration. Maybe I'm being frigid in my view of how a missing episodes site should operate but is this seriously the sort of thing we want to be reading? Lets get back to the leads, the FACTS as they stand, not juvenile wish lists and so forth. Please, I ask again for no-one to take offence; I just want to start a reasonable discourse on this issue and I welcome other's opinions, regardless of their stance.

Gazing into my crystal ball, I can confidently predict that the next missing Doctor Who episode will be found by a man. It will be in black and white, and will have been made in the Sixties.
Looking at the conjuction of Mars and Uranus, it can be seen that it will be about 25 minutes long, and will include music.
The episode will feature a man whose name beings either with a W or a P.
The colour blue has great significance.
It will be found in a year with the number "2" in it.

well one of the totally WEIRD coincidences regarding the discovery of " the Lion " (and in keeping with the lighter tone of this thread) is this...
a few years beforehand me and Jon Preddle were at a party and used a deck of tarot cards to predict what missing episodes we would find if any....
I pulled out the card strength (featuring a LION) and john said I was going to find episode one of the Crusade... and Jons card was the Moon (featuring a moon and a crab) . as the lion bit came true for me , Jons overdue on finding the rest of the moonbase or the macra terror !

I think the last two recoveries have been spooky. Lion Found 14th Jan 1999, MASTERPLAN 2 found 15th Jan 2004. Telsnaps of Crusade found in march 1999, telesnaps of POLO found March 2004. Missing episode Ice Warriorsboxed set released November 1998, missing episodes Reign of Terror boxed set released November 2003. A hell of a lot of coincidences here! So that means the next episode will turn up in the middle of January 2009, telesnaps found to Polo 4 in the March , missing episodes boxed set featuring, tenth planet and Ice warriors in november 2008. Very Spooky! ps: I know you discovered the Lion on the 3 of January neil, but it wasen't untill the 14th January that the news of your discovery was announced.

Well I had a dream after Masterplan 2 recovery that a second episode would be found that year, sadly it diden't come true, but what was really spooky that 3 of my work colleagues said that they heard on the radio that two episodes of Doctor Who had been found in a skip on the 2 Jan 04, I rushed to my local internet cafe 2 find out more info, and sadly there was nothing! And then two weeks later two episodes of Doctor Who, one missing were rescued from a junk pile by a BBC employee in the 1970's and returned. Bloody Spooky!

I dreamt a couple of nights ago that a mate had found a bunch of films including the Moonbase:3 and Macra Terror:4. Sadly the former turned out to be an incomplete print! Just for the record in case it ever comes true

Still some of the Macra Terror is better than none at all, and an complete print of Moonbase: 3 would be cool to see. We can only hope that the dream comes true. Only time can tell.

All seems a bit odd realy, this supernatural stuff, but I can't see an harm in it. Perhaps its a case of the subconcious processing multiple source information in a complex way and the conclusions emerge as dreams and so on, then again perhaps it IS premonition.

To be honest, in the past I've discovered that when using archane means of locating missing footage that the internal organs of a disenboweled Cyberman works best. Problem is, the supply of those critters has been very, very short lately. I may have to switch to Yeti or Zygon or something.
