Did anyone ever record Nick drakes Nigh Ride edition? its currently missing amongst fans and i would love to track it down. It seems sad that both this and his john Peel sessions do not circulate.
Did anyone record these? it seems Nicks JP session is oe of the few missing sessions

if anybody had these it seems likely they would have surfaced by now. the amount of nick drake stuff available is so limited that these recordings would be worth a fortune

Did anyone record these? it seems Nicks JP session is oe of the few missing sessions Four minutes of Nick Drake's performance was preserved on a privately held tape (one minute of Time of No Reply and three minutes of Three Hours, roughly; nothing of Cello Song or River Man is known to exist). The tape surfaced into general circulation just a couple years back and shouldn't be that hard to track down. I would say that the Drake session was the most high-profile Peel Session for which nothing was previously known to exist, certainly. A lot of bands recorded sessions and some of them are unlikely to be of interest to modern ears- if their sessions are missing, who's to know?

Im trying to track down the original taper to get a non compressed transfer. Currently there are talks on the Drake forums of his Peel sessions surfacing in full. But no one has said anything else about it.

But no one has said anything else about it. Yeah I've never seen the existing portion in any lossless format. Didn't know of the rumors about the whole thing still existing- be nice if it surfaces! You never know what's out there- unlike with archive television, where new finds seem to be few and far between, with live audio recordings it seems like every other week that some recording rumored to exist but heard by practically nobody pops up out of nowhere. Last year, maybe the year before, a partial recording of the only missing Roxy Music radio session showed up. A good-quality aircheck of the complete Top Gear that featured the only King Crimson Peel Session, from '69, is out there too. I wonder if DGM knows about that one- they've put out two of the songs officially, but before this nobody at all had a copy of "I Talk To the Wind" from the session (recorded so early in their career Fripp hadn't even started sitting down while playing guitar live!) Maybe one day the Gentle Giant "Three Friends" radio session will show up- the story goes it was recorded off the radio but the taper later lost his recording of it. At the rate stuff has been coming out of the woodwork, there's nothing I'd rule out at this point!

But it contains no in between banter saddly.
