What got me futher is that a LOT of this guys shows have been restored by Ted Kendall .. so its still bbc copyiright then.. about 10 years ago ted made a statment that due to ppl selling his work as MP3 cd's he was cutting back his releses of comedy..
ok target NO 1 is order@otrcat.com

I know how you feel. I recently searched the world for a rare concert recording. i was given the master by a nice chap from france. i transfered it and spread it Legally to people on Fan boards. 2 weeks later it was on ebay in mp3 format. When will people learn that Mp3 is destroying archive material. MP3 is so terrible. people should realise they can get ahold of material for free and in 100 times better than MP3

If you have a problem with this site, why not contact the person who runs it and inform him he is offering shows that may be under BBC copyright.

'why not contact the person who runs it and inform him he is offering shows that may be under BBC copyright.' ALL BBC recordings are copyright!! I reported a guy just last week who was selling 'hundreds' of Hancock recordings on DVD's (radio stuff). I kept my eye on the auction, and what happened? Absolutely nothing.

Yep They have all been informed, I'm yet to find any contact details of anyone in BBC Worldwide who i can talk to. this is a BIG problem it's stripping thier revenue. Imagine are you going to fork out 100's pounds for complete Round the horne, goon show, navy lark, journy into space, hancock. all lovingly restored OR are you going to pay 1-10 pounds for a dvd-r with the same shows (abeit in crappy quality) most ppl ive spoken to about chose the latter.
Ive spoken on the phone to various people at ebay and thier (combined) responce is "look we get paid for the listing, the seller has informed us that the shows are NOT under copyright, END OF STORY!" Most ppl selling this stuff use a "libary of congress" loophole refering to US shows . Ebay loves it

I've seen a few disclaimers in recent years where some people have sold MP3 discs of BBC shows as a back up service, i.e, "its up to you to buy the box sets of HHH, DA or The Goons and we'll provide the same shows on a backup mp3 disc for a tenner", surely this must also be illegal - but it seems like an excuse that they are sticking to...
What really annoyed me was that someone had decorated one of their illegal discs with artwork from my website and I did report that.
On the other hand, a friend who had recently got into OTR was duped into buying what he believed was a genuine MP3 disc of BBC recordings (the seller had used a photo of an official Comedy release to cover the discretion, on recieving the item (a cheapy CD in a paper sleeve) he reported it as counterfeit and got a full refund and the seller scratched off.
I think the only way to do these people is for buyers to report these items as counterfeit and if the buyers arent prepared to do that , it seems ebay won't listen...
I think its a shame that lots of good work has obviously been plagarised in this way but it does seem these days people want to make a fast buck out of recordings whether they do or dont exist in the archive and if they're not doing it on ebay they're probably doing it somewhere else...

...........I've just had a nasty little e-mail from the guy I reported to Ebay for the Hanock DVD's last week. At least (I presume) they pulled his dodgy items.

I know this is illegal but lets face it a lot of stuff in the BBC archive would not be there today if they had not been recorded Illegally at home by viewers & listeners
