Just read this in Record Collector :
"Music mogul and TV talent show pundit Mickie Most was inspired to launch a programme purely for "the kids" ("Revolver") after watching a documentary about TOTP. Robin Nash, its then-producer, had boasted on camera how TOTP had such a broad appeal that youngsters and their parents would watch it together."
So, does anybody know if this TOTP documentary (circa '76/77 maybe?) still exists???

I'm just guessing '76/77 as "Revolver" began in '78.

When did Robin Nash stop producing the show?
I think he started around late '74/early '75.

Robin Nash took over the pops in 1973 and lasted until a certain Mr Hurl took over in the early eighties

Thanks Gary.
So the documentary could have been anytime from '73 to '77 then.

There's a couple of items featuring Robin Nash around that time - he appeared in a film item in "Blue Peter" on 16/2/76 about Lesley Judd dancing with "Pan's People", and in "Omnibus: The Record Machine" on 12/10/78. The latter is possibly more likely since it features a proper interview (and would Mickie Most be watching "Blue Peter"?), but it's too late presumably to have inspired "Revolver" - but perhaps it's another case of memories getting confused as to the exact sequence of events...?
