Messing with my memory banks today, I remembered that a few years ago, VH-1 (back when it was bearable to watch) did a Top 100 Greatest Rock TV moments countdown. Among the entries was the special celebrating Elvis getting out of the Army. It was hosted (or at least featured Frank Sinatra). However, VH-1 never showed any footage from it. Does this still exist?

I think it does.
There is certainly footage of Sinatra and Elvis in top and tails.
Not a huge Elvis fan, but Elvis in a suit!!! No thanks!

I think that the footage of Elvis and Sinatra suited up is from Ed Sullivan Show or similar. They appeared together on there, if memory serves me right.

It sounds like the Frank Sinatra Timex Special (Welcome Home, Elvis) 3/26/60

There were at least two other moments that were on the list sans footage, btw. One was a Buddy Holly appearance on American Bandstand that they said did not exist on the broadcast. The other was the infamous Rolling Stones "Let's Spend Some Time Together" performance on the Ed Sullivan show (their last app., needless to say).

It may have been bleeped for the West Coast, but I'm sure it wasn't on the East coast, being live.

There was mention of the Satisfaction in (I think) the Arena doc on the Stones. Let's Spend Some Time Together does exist from the Sullivan Show (a clip was used in the same doc).

With regard to the Sinatra/Presley duet, it is indeed from the Sinatra "Timex" show of 1960. The Sinatra or Presley estates probably wanted too much money for the clip, if I had to guess as to the reason for its absence.
The entire show does exist (and is out on an unauthorized DVD, currently)... though the Sinatra family apparently has only a ropey, off-kilter kinescope transfer as their master. The "Love Me Tender/Witchcraft" medley was released by them as part of a Sinatra Classic Duets DVD, and was not particularly impressive, quality-wise.
Which is a pity, because if they ever get a decent transfer, I'll be happy to re-video it for them with LUSTRE.

One was the first Ed Sullivan show appearance, and the 1968 Comback Special.

The Elvis/Sinatra performance has been shown on VH1 a few times (years ago now). It's a well ropey copy obviously filmed off a television screen as the bottom of the screen is visible throughout the entire performance. I've always wondered if the (un)official DVD release of this is like this too. Anyone got a copy?
