Anyone familiar with this program? It's an early 1967 30 min b/w documentary on the "underground" and features an interview with Paul McCartney as well as some footage (with sound) of a live 1/67 Pink Floyd show at UFO. I'm looking to upgrade my copy of the complete program. The generation of my copy is 2nd Gen SVHS but it's missing the start of the program. Can anyone point me in the direction of a better copy? I have lots of Hendrix and Syd era Pink Floyd material if interested.
Thanks, Chris

Hi Chris Not sure if you know about this but there is a series of CDs and VCDs called Have You Got It Yet for all things Syd. It's So Far Out It's Straight Down is on one of the VCDs and can be downloaded via BitTorrent....there's also audio on a separate CD volume of the Floyd material in the show but without the commentator's voiceover. Lots of very good things to be found on the rest of the VCDs too, including a short b/w German film from '67 called Die Jungen Nachtwendler, which has Syd-era Floyd playing something unrecognizable (more than likely Interstellar Overdrive) in a London club. Let me know what other material you have. Here's a link: www.neptunepinkfloyd.co.uk/hygiy/Cheers, Andy

I'm looking to upgrade the Far Out program but every copy I've seen cuts in.. The Have You Got It audio set is a nice way to get everything at one time but better sources of most of that stuff is in circulation now. Also, the Have You Got it CD set uses WAY too much noise reduction. I much prefer the raw copies. Chris

Techniscal issue aside I think it's useful to be able to have it all in one place and readily available through BitTorrent, especially if, like me, you're not blessed to be in the loop of people who circulate things. Would love to have better quality copies of most things Floyd to be honest.....
One thing tho...if the HYGIY "So Far Out" is from your copy, where did this come from originally? Is it just a Granada viewing copy?

How long does the one on HYGIY last? I got my copy of the programme off an ftp. It starts with McCartney talking and the tracking is wonky for a few seconds then it settles down. It lasts 29.40. For a 30 min show it seems complete.

Is it just a Granada viewing copy? I'm not sure. Diabolical copies of part of the live Floyd segment have been doing the rounds for ages. I got a complete complete/near complete copy in the late 90's from a guy that said it was submitted to Apple for Anthology but not used. I later received an earlier generation of it (2nd gen) that was a bit better and longer. At the end of the program, after the screen goes black, you can still hear 20-30 seconds of the Floyd improvising at UFO. I *think* this is the copy I gave the guys that did HYGIY. All copies I've seen start cut in to Macca's interview and the first few seconds are kinda wonky. What I find fascinating about this program is the audio snippits of Pink Floyd playing an early version of Matilda Mother at UFO (1/20/67). If you are familiar with Belloc you can tell that Syd is singing lines directly from a few of the stores in The Cautionairy Tales.
