I have just been given some amateur footage of the Pops.
It is a very brief clip made by someone pointing a camera at their television set.
It lasts only a matter of seconds but is very interesting.
More details to follow. I think I know the year and artists involved but want to check it on the database which is down at the mo.

Right I got on on.
Excellent!
It is from 23rd of March 67. Great as that is an era which is so bad for the Pops.
There is a girl dancing in a trilby type hat. She smiles as the camera then goes onto various other girls dancing.
The distictive Pops sign that is on the Boxing Day 67 show is shown a few times.
There are very brief glimpses of Whistling Jack Smith and Otis Redding.
Possibly also Paul Jones of Manfredd Mann.
I'll go and have another look.
It's great you can freeze frame these days!

er, I don't really know, I have little knowledge of computers to tell you the truth, let alone how you'd get this film on-line! Was just working on the vain hope that you might! sorry! some questions though: what format is your copy of this footage on? VHS? DVD? cinefilm? and how did you manage to track it down?

Perhaps Steve could help us. He did those nifty disco clips and got them on the net.
Are you there Steve?

It is from 23rd of March 67. Interesting! An off-screen recording of Jimi hendrix Performing Purple haze from 30th March 67 also exists.

The source of the clip is a 20 year old docu on the Yardbirds.
The clip has no relevance at all to the Yardbirds.
I'll check the credits at the end when I get a chance.
After the girl dances it appears speeded up. I wonder could a fuller version exist?

After the girl dances it appears speeded up. The batteries were running low on the camera presumably?

sounds like the opening titles? and the speeding up means either the clockwork motor of the batteries were running down, perhaps that is why its only a few seconds. we're getting it back one second at a time.
