Was there no TOTP on 12/8/76, or is it just another one that's missing from the database??

There was a TOTP on that date, but it no longer exists - that's not to say that items from it weren't re-used on subsequent editions soon after...

The olympics finished on August 1st, so that couldn't have had anything to do with it.
Looking at the database, there are no repeat performances on subsequent editions that could have originated from an edition broadcast on 12th August.

Thanks Andrew.
I will start trying to work out what was on that edition.

There must have been an edition on 12.8.76, judging by what was on (and not featured) on 5.8.76 and 19.8.76. Some or all of the following would have been on it:
Thin Lizzy - Jailbreak / Stylistics - 16 Bars / Dr Hook - A Little Bit More / Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel - Stylistics / Now Is The Time - Jimmy James & Vagabonds / Afternoon Delight - Starland Vocal Band / A Fifth Of Beethoven - Walter Murphy / You Should Be Dancing - Bee Gees / You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine - Lou Rawls / Status Quo - Mystery Song / Elton & Kiki - Don't Go Breaking My Heart
And I reckon Tony Blackburn would have presented it.

I don`t ever remember any kind of strike action in that long hot summer of 1976, so i think it would be safe to assume there was an edition that has got lost along with the paperwork for it.

There definitely was an edition tx'd on that date, but the PasB document never arrived - I'll see if I can unearth any details...

I reckon either Wings' "Let 'Em In" or Bryan Ferry's "Price Of Love" were played over the end credits as both songs were played in full the following week.

Neil, sorry to steal your fire there; I know you were working on details from that edition too, but I thought I'd have a quick look and see what I could come up with. Mine isn't a comprehensive list by any means, I'm sure you can come up with something more accurate.

That's OK, Jason. I haven't had a chance to come up with anything yet anyway.

Good work, Andrew, Thanks for posting that info. I don't suppose you have a listing for 8.9.77, which is also missing from the database?

Excellent work, Andrew! Thanks for posting that.
Interesting to see that the Equals performed "Funky Like A Train" in the studio. I wonder if Eddy Grant was still in them by that point?
