As a Yorkshire show, I would think it very likely that all shows survive - confirmation from anyone?

Quite the reverse in fact. Been led to believe that just one or two editions of "Animal Kwackers" remain in the archive. Most of it has gone.

I thought that they all existed. It was talked about on this forum a year or two ago. I took special interest because not only did I use to watch it but also got to see a live show version on Cleethorpes Pier in 1978! I also have a very bad audio tape recording featuring the final 2 minutes of one show from around 1977 with continuity... it was followed by "Pipkins"! The vast majority of "Pipkins" were wiped as well and the two DVD sets were basically compiled from off air home video recordings, so a lot of mid to late 70s Childrens TV ended up getting wiped from the archives.

Not seen them, but can confirm that this is something to do with John Bassett who played Boots. The debate if episodes still exist on the archive will roll on and on. ITN archive list all episodes, stars is always available as is the part episode shown on itv.com best of the 1970's. Said it before on a previous post, if they are still available lets get it on DVD.

Thats tragic that these have all virtually vanished - I remember both series very well, particularly Mr Pipkin in the original series, the actor who played him died very early on.
There was also that great segment in each show with the clocks when they were about to tell a story... all but memories now!

Ah yes, I know about the sad tale of Pipkins. Were these routinely wiped as the series went on, or did loads of it go after the end of ATV? As for the Kwackers, I recall the thread on here, but missed the fact that most of the series had gone. That's a shame if true, as the Kaleidoscope Children's research guide list all but 3 episodes existing on either 1" or 2" VT. I hope they haven't been junked since that book came out, though I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't considered worth transfering to D3 or whatever. Hope that isn't the case edit: a search on for Animal Kwackers at www.itnsource.com brings up quite a few results, which implies they still exist, doesn't it?
