Could you elaborate about "various formats" - are they at least of broadcast qualty?
And does the 86m tape mean that the whole studio recording exists?
Thanx for the info.

Hi - whilst the subject has been raised, does anyone know if the one-off early 60s prog 'Spike Milligan - A Series of Unrelated Incidents at Current Market Value' still exists? Methinks probably not, but if someone can confirm or deny that would be great.

Yay!!!!! I shall look up the reviews of MBW immediately! I confess that I tend to avoid looking at the schedules for these things so as not to make myself sick with jealousy, as I can't go, because it's happening in London, and I can't afford the train fare...whinge, moan, rant etc etc. Being an accumulator of Bill Kerr stuff and info, if anyone could describe a few of the bits in the show in which he was in I would be extremely grateful...

Well the news gets better and better for you as it is scheduled to be screened this christmas on BBC4 as part of their comedy repeats accompanying the time-shift missing believed wiped documentary, trust me you won't forget Bill Kerr in an evening dress with big dangly ear-rings easily.

Sounds delightful! The only problem being that I now have about three weeks maximum to convince my parents that we really need to get digital TV...I shall retire now to think up my grovelling strategy...

I can also recall an incredible sketch on Peter Cookes notorious 1971 chat show. The sketch (By Cooke and Milligan) was a sort of `Courtroom scene` where God was on trial; and his alibi was that The Universe fell off the back of a lorry! I wonder if it exists? ASM PS Hello to Dubs!

Recorded but wiped.

It was an audio clip. Somebody taped at least one of them at home.

The audio clip was supplied by a BBC Studio Manager who recorded it off-air at home. The full recording (made directly from a modified TV set rather than through a microphone pointed at a speaker) has since been given to the BBC sound archive.
Hope this helps,
Jim.
