Hi all, Following on from the Film is Fabulous event on October 29th, where I was contacted by a film collector who said he had an old Basil Brush film, I can now tell you all that the film is safe and will be returned to the BBC Archive. It's the 23rd of October 1970 edition, episode 6 of the 1970 Autumn run and is an uncut film recording made on the day of transmission. The film does contain chroma dots, but is also badly scratched at the beginning of the recording, damage which continues for several minutes. Still, it's better than nothing at all! The recording is from the same series which, just a month ago had no episodes representing it in any archive. Thanks to the Film is Fabulous initiative, there are now two. Also, since it has chroma dots, it's possible for it to be recolorized with the Chroma Dot Colour Recovery process.

Oh...I see. I thought this was the Basil Brush Found thread. It's actually the Yet More Basil...thread.
Here's hoping for an Even Yet More Basil...one!

Worth a quote:
"The show was presented by Derek Fowlds and featured music from ‘Dr. Marigold’s Prescription’, and a guest performance by Tommy ‘Gentleman Jack’ Iversen. It is the second Basil Brush programme found from Season 4 (it being episode 6)."
Dr.Marigold's Prescription! (Name taken from a Dickens short story, as I eventually learned).
