Hi all,
Yes, yet another lovely discovery:
The Basil Brush Show TX: 25/09/1970
This is an original BBC Enterprises film recording in near perfect condition and has clearly defined chroma dots captured in the recording. Most editions are missing from 1970 so it's fabulous to have a new example from that year.

More info: "The Basil Brush Show (Broadcast: 25th September 1970) Presented by Derek Fowlds, the programme also featured Peter Cowap, a Manchester musician who later joined Herman’s Hermits. The print was found in the collection of a deceased film collector, and has now been scanned by the BBC Archive." filmisfabulous.org.uk/lost-childrens-tv-discovered/

Do we know if it is black and white or colour? Good news indeed, regardless.

If they can secure funding to restore the colour from the chromadots. Iirc from what was said on the Film is Fabulous discussion on YouTube that included Steve Roberts

I was always hoping for a mention by Blaketon on Heartbeat of an old villain name of Basil Reynardine lurking about! I have a single DVD Basil release, and a Yeti skit from the show on a Doctor Who DVD, but t'would be nice to see another collection with more Fowlds.

Basil & Mr Derek are definitely the best combo for me!
