I attended and thoroughly enjoyed today's event. Many thanks to all involved.
I had to dip in and out of the panels, and also needed to leave before the event finished. Were there any other finds announced other than the Basil Brush episode please?

Were there any other finds announced other than the Basil Brush episode please? I'd missed Stephen's post, above yours, Steve, which links to: "Film enthusiasts have discovered three original lost episodes of classic BBC television series from the 1960s. The episodes from sitcoms Sykes and a..., Hugh and I, and oil industry drama Mogul were recovered from privately-owned collections. They have been missing from the BBC archives but will be returned so they can be digitally copied. The finds, described as "treasures", will be discussed at a film convention in Leicester on Sunday." Hurrah!

I've mentioned this in a different thread, but The Basil Brush Show that I announced today at Film is Fabulous is the 25th of September 1970 edition, the second episode of the new Autumn series and is, I think, the only surviving edition of that series.

4 new finds, well thats better than nothing. Excellent news. Do you feel the event had the success you were hoping with potentially newly approachable collectors that have maybe been reticent to show their hands up to now, was anything positive coming through in those quarters? Lets hope this event achieves its goal..it can only be all positive, now we just have to get the BBC to show the new stuff.

On 'Footage Detectives' recently Noel Cronin revealed that "some real gems" had been recovered from the estate of the late Francis Essex, former head of Light Entertainment at ATV. The clip shown was from an Alma Cogan 1959 Val Parnell 'Saturday Spectacular'.
Do you know which other titles were found in this lost haul?

The finds mentioned above are great, but I had understood from various podcasts that 20+ finds were to be announced?

I believe (but don't quote me) that two others were an episode of Lance at Large and The Very Merry Widow and How.

The finds mentioned above are great, but I had understood from various podcasts that 20+ finds were to be announced? I had read similarly. Must say I was a little surprised that Basil Brush was the only one as we have known of the others for a week or two now. Most of the rhetoric I read was in the Plural, not the singular. However, it is what it is. If theres more, then there has to be a reason for its non disclosure and if there isnt , well hey ho and all that stuff.

Yes Lance at Large was mentioned as being found, but I can'y remember when the VEry Merry Widow , and How was found, just that it was one that some thought it being missing wasn't much of a loss when they saw it!!! All a matter of taste.
I was on the same train beck to London as Dick Fiddy, but were had seat reservations in different carriages of a packed train. I only had just about enough time to say hello before we boarded.
