I am digitising my Grandmothers letters form the 50s and being using the BBC Genome website to correlate the programs to the episode. The BBC Genome programme has been great for this and I have even been able to update a programme description for Find the Link based upon her letters. Is there an ITV equivalent? It looks like some have disappeared.
My grandfather was watching the Television Toppers on TV on the 31st Jan 1955 or 1956. Can you find the programme?

ITV started in September 1955, so I guess the date you’re looking for is 1956.
For any music programs, TV Pop Diaries website is an invaluable resource.

The Television Toppers were dancers who appeared on the BBC TV programme 'Quite Contrary' on 31 January 1955. However, for some reason they were billed in the Radio Times as 'The New Toppers'. IMDB confirms the Television Toppers and the New Toppers were the same dance troupe.

Thank you for that. He was a fan of Mantovani Mantovani as well who were on the bill. She also writes about Find the Link and the young death of Peter Martyn. No episodes survive.
