Several friends have reported that the Network on Air website is down - I had a look and it states "Account Suspended " does anyone know what's happening with the company ?

I was worried about setting off a panic so asked about this on another thread. They're still a-Twittering, so hopefully, things will be resolved soon.

I can hardly attach a 'Like' to your post, Kelvin, but thanks for sorting this out.

Yesterday, their quote of the day was ""What can you do, except do what you can do as best you know how?" which seemed ominous.
Not a bad valediction for them.

Good grief this news is a shock, a real bolt out of the blue and not a pleasant one, obviously. Suffice it to say that over the years Network on Air has been responsible for some truly superb releases, often meticulously restored in gorgeous HD. Indeed, a recent acquisition, ‘Hammer’s House of Horror’ TV series from 1980 looks like it was filmed only yesterday thanks to Network! They’re going to be sorely missed, to put it mildly. …on a more practical note prices are presumably going to rise sharply now as remaining stock held by other retailers diminishes with no hope of replenishment. Guess I had better quicken the pace on acquiring those Network sets I was intending to buy then, before I can’t afford to…

Terrible news indeed.
Yes, after hearing the news a few hours ago - in case the prices skyrocket - I bought a few volumes I had intended to get later of their "ABC Nights In" collections - so I'll now have all of those volumes that I wanted (which was most of them). And also bought a DVD of their "Elizabeth Taylor in London/Sophia Loren in Rome" release - which likewise I would have bought later.

Though it’s currently far from clear what’s going to happen I think you did the right thing Tim. I took my own advice hastily purchasing the Blu Ray of Gerry Anderson’s Supercar (via Amazon). Ironically I’d wanted the elaborate collector’s edition… but that was a Network exclusive worst luck! On a related note I scanned along my vintage/cult TV shelf the other day and hadn’t realised before now that a good 90%+ of titles were Network releases. They really will be missed.

Thanks mattg. Yes, they will be very much missed. I got the purchases I mentioned mainly from Amazon with a couple from Ebay. All - except one which was cheaper - each a few quid higher in price than what would have been the, alas no more, direct from Network price.

I've made a list of 'must haves' to buy on Amazon or Ebay before the inevitable price rises but I'm just going on instinct....which is usually flawed in my case.
I was a latecomer to the Network party so I am especially gutted to hear they have ceased trading.

My first thought was a bit the opposite... that there might be a lot of DVDs flooding the market as part of liquidation of assets!
Terrible news though; have bought so many of their releases either direct new or second hand.
