I just went on Amazon to check the release date for Doctor Who the collection: Season 2 to pre-order and there isn't any confirmed date?
Then on one of the reviews I read:
"Thanks to the two missing “Crusade” episodes being found we can enjoy a full 60s season. I’m looking forward to seeing them on this set"
Is this why a release date has not been finalised and why no animation appears on this set for the Crusade's missing parts?
This is really excitig news if true. Can anyone confirm if this is so? If not, then Amazon should remove this review as it will raise many false hopes.

No episodes have been found. Episodes 2 and 4 are represented by reconstructions, as already indicated.
It’s just a typical stupid Amazon “review”.

Ok, thanks for that quick reponse, Richard. I was about ready to put my shoes on and go down to my local to buy everyone a round in the event of that being good news. What a shame. Here's the link to the review - www.amazon.co.uk/gp/profile/amzn1.account.AELCCLVIXQ6GICXJ6KRAQ4Y7FXKQ/ref=cm_cr_dp_mb_gw_tr?ie=UTF8The reviewer seens to be of sober judgement, with 33+ followers and a high impact rating. I can't understand why he would write that, unless he misunderstood the Amazon description: "MISSING EPISODE RECONSTRUCTIONS Watch The Crusade with its two missing episodes reconstructed using off-air soundtracks and photographs"

I can't understand why he would write that, unless he misunderstood the Amazon description: It’s because, Andy, some people are very, very stupid and delight in posting idiotic “reviews” on Amazon. The place is sadly littered with them.

Well, one episode, The Lion, was found a few years ago... Other than that, it might be best to edit the thread-title, which you can do, Andy via the drop-down menu on your first post.

Funny it doesn't seem like 23 years ago but in retrospect I now feel older . . . .

I remember The Lion was the first episode found after I started reading DWM, who gave it's discovery a very good feature.

Still waiting for my first discovery. I started watching Doctor Who in 2014, one year after Enemy/Web.

I remember The Lion was the first episode found after I started reading DWM, who gave it's discovery a very good feature. For me I rediscovered my love of the classic series after the new series started. I started to remember how much I'd liked it and maybe I would just buy the Five Doctors Special Edition DVD and see if I still loved the old series... Now years later my shelf is full of all the classic DVDs and Blu-ray sets. I didn't actually start getting into Missing Episodes until the wonderful Lost In Time set. I think then I joined the various forums but it took me to February 2013 to find the Loose Cannon recons. Sending off some blank DVDs to have them at home! So the first episodes that came back for me, when I was a reinvested fan, were The Underwater Menace & Galaxy 4 ones. I remember there being an edition of DWM that focused on the Missing Episodes and where they were sent to and from, I read that until it became so dogeared! That led me to the updated Wiped and that became a new obsession, and equally dogeared!! I don't think I will hit that giddy highs of 2013 again!! MJ

After revisiting Amazon’s page for Season 2 just thought I’d provide a pertinent if belated pseudo FYI to this thread. To the surprise of absolutely no one I’m sure the individual spuriously claiming ‘Crusade’s recovery is a notorious, longtime (better part of a decade in fact) troll that for some reason Amazon continues to tolerate*. Known as ’Top Reviewer’ he acquired quite the reputation on the site a few years back for awarding universal 1 star ratings and facetious reviews to seemingly every piece of Doctor Who-related merchandise being released at the time. Why he deigns to target Doctor Who in particular is anyone’s guess… From memory a ‘classic’ example of his peerlessly acerbic wit: during Jodie Whitaker’s tenure he rated Nu Who dvds/Blu Ray 1 star citing Whitaker’s gender as the sole reason whilst giving concurrent Classic releases (animations included) identical… because he objected to the Doctor being portrayed by a man. That’s the level of ‘comedic’ sophistication we’re dealing with people! As I say he’s a highly dedicated, persistent little *&#% that’s been at this for years so remember the name Top Reviewer because rest assured he’ll be on every future ‘The Collection release page claiming pretty much anything to provoke, confuse and enrage. Takes all sorts I guess. *A quick peruse of his profile page indicates that Amazon purged most of his frivolous contributions at some point as there’s only 25 reviews left from a previous high of 50+. Hasn’t discouraged him though sadly.
