The CFF (children's film foundation) produced a lot of stuff which was obviously for kids, sometimes serials sometimes single adventures.DTD was a 10 part serial. It was a non-profit organization basically to give kids something of their own to watch on Saturdays after the grim past and post WW2 days. IIRC Usually all the technical people on a CFF production gave their services for free or a 'buy me a drink/cigarettes' style rate to keep the budget down.. think the adult actors did the same? The budget came from a share of a small tax on earnings from blockbuster adult films. By the 1980s the tax was taken off as it was felt the kids had moved on and production ceased.
