My guess would be ATV’s The Larkins, of which all 6 series (starting 1958) still survive. What is it?

Ah. I think we're going to have to distinguish between 'series', as in the US 'seasons', and series, as in 'the entire series of...', meaning every episode made of a show. The British mode of calling both 'series' can be confusing, so we end up with "They've found all of series 8, so now they have the entire series."
Easiest for a show that lasted only one series (i.e. season)to exist complete, of course.

Nah, there are loads older than that, off the top of my head The Adventures of Sir Lancelot is from 1956 and is all available on DVD etc. the second series in in colour too, the first full colour UK TV show I think.

Found another; Adventures of Robin Hood (1955-1958) survives in full and has been issued on DVD

I was also thinking the early filmed ITV series might be the oldest intact show.

Then it's possible that Inspector Morley, Late of Scotland Yard (1952) does exist complete - A strange one in that it was a British produced series, but wasn't screened in the UK in the first few years following it's production (maybe later) It was theatrically released as two features and one featurette as I told, it was shown in America, complete (13 episodes). missingepisodes.proboards.com/thread/12035/discovery-inspector-morley-late-scotland
