I was talking to my Mother in Law who spent part of her childhood living with her Aunt & Uncle who were in service at Osterley Park in London. Among her memories of films makers using the house and grounds, she has strong memories of Benny Hill being filmed in a sketch running up & down the steps of the building. This would be sometime between 1953 & 1965. Has anyone any idea what this could be from, I’m guessing his BBC series, and although unlikely does anyone know if it still exists?

I suppose it was TV rather than a film?

If you're going as far back as 1953, it could be the BBC or ATV. Benny did shows for ATV between 1957 and 1960 as well as his BBC shows, I believe these were via a handshake agreement in lieu of him dropping out of live stage work that he hated.

I suppose it was TV rather than a film? No evidence either way, but I thought TV would be a more likely bet because of the relative volume of work.

Are you able to describe what it was about? Like is there something particular he was doing that could narrow it down to a particular sketch? (he usually did sketches over the years at least two to three times, so I might be able to pinpoint it based on a later version).

Thanks, much appreciated. I will ask her when we see her either later on today or tomorrow.
