Recently I was reading about Barbapapa, which I believe the dub made by or for the BBC in the 1970s has been lost, though there were other English dubs that still exist.
I was wondering what the status of other dubs around this time, such as Barnaby The Bear (which also dubbed elsewhere in English). I know fans have managed to recover all but one of the English soundtracks to White Horses.
I presume some of the dubs have been lost as the contract for the dub only lasted a few years & it wasn't considered worth renewing & the prints / tapes lost.

As far as I am aware The Flashing Blade final episode BBC Dub is still missing. The DVD has a subtitled original French version in place of the missing UK version.?
For those who don’t know the story, It’s unlikely to be found due to the failure of the dubbed master, meaning that there were I think only a couple of attempts to broadcast it and, as it was in effect a stand alone episode set in the future, it didn’t feature in the endless holiday repeats during the 70’s making home audio all but impossible.

Thanks I think that rings a faint bell, especially about the master being faulty.

The Adventures of Floris (1970 in the UK)
The accursed kings 2-6, although that was just the occasional narration.

I suspect dubbed children's shows were high on Adam Lee's wiping list in 1993, up till when they might all have been sitting safely.
