We have had a very generous amount of missing episodes/material animated so far, with the promise of more to come. But what is YOUR favourite style of animation so far. So this is NOT about YOUR favourite story, but your favourite animated episodes from a particular story. Judging by my avatar image, you probably know which story I consider has the best animation.

The animation for The Moonbase is superb but the story suffers from a poor conclusion and overly simple story. The Invasion is incredible but the totally animated stories so far are also superb. The cherry on the cake has to be the wonderful cut-down animation of Wheel episode 1 on the Macra release. Can't wait to see a DVD release for that mixed with the live-action surviving episodes.Interestingly, the use of a colour palate and the excellent and expansive background designs of the animations over the original productions give them a modern feel which is in keeping with 21st century Dr Who.Also in my opinion they're best heard in their original mono soundtracks expertly cleaned up by Mark Ayres. This gives a real feel for their 60s origins but mixed with the modern animations.

For the fact it sticks so well to the original broadcast version and blends in well with the existing episodes it's The Moonbase for me. It looks and sounds stunning. Full credit to all involved. Also its "complete" with no cut scenes. However i should add that the dedication on all these animations by the teams working on them has been admirable and done with love. Like or dislike animations we have come along way thanks to so many people in terms of missing episodes in many ways.

Whilst 'The Moonbase' has my favourite animation, I must add that there isn't one animation I don't like. I really do like them all. Plus the fact every animation seems to have a different style to each other, keeps them interesting and fresh. I even enjoyed the animated 'Reign of Terror' episodes to, and find they work well with the surviving episodes. I do think there is an issue with animating 'historical' stories though. It is maybe because cartoon versions of the 'historical' stories don't work as well as they do with the fantasy/sci-fi type stories. Basically stories with the monsters are perfect cartoon candidates (just look at Scooby Doo!). Which is another reason I can understand many of the missing Troughton episodes are being animated rather than the Hartnell 'historical' ones.

I haven't seen the 2020 version of THE POWER OF THE DALEKS so had to go with the 2016 version. Either way, this story will always get my vote as it's my favourite...

Sorry but i don't see it as any improvement - cutting a scene in the tardis (the first time the doctor plays his recorder) ,making the doctors trousers grey instead of the check pattern in the original animation .buy the SE for the new recon and the additional extras but for me i'll be sticking with the steelbook version

I think Planet 55 did an amazing job with shade and creating atmosphere. Even Reign is a decent job, acknowledging the behind-the-scenes problems and some of the bizarre creative decisions. All of their work was distinct, stylised and seemed to elevate the animation in my opinion. Not all of the likenesses were perfect, but most of the other animations can't even get the image of the Doctor right.

I'd rather grey trousers than a cut scene from my favourite (and best "known") serial. Either way, if this is the case, I'd rather stick with the 2016 version.
