Wow, what a wonderful dramatic and cinematic clip for the 'Neil MacArthur' reworking of 'She's Not There' from 1969. The Zombies never made any promo films (as far as I know anyway) in their original phase so this almost makes up for there being no 'original' promo for the Zombies version: just 5 years later and Blunstone looks pretty much the same as he did in 1964.
Always found it weird that while the effectively defunct Zombies were enjoying a huge stateside hit with 'Time Of the Season' in 1969, (allowing fake groups to tour the US in the absence of the real deal) Blunstone was re-selling their first hit to a UK audience under an assumed name! Surely a cannier move at the time would have been to get Blunstone and Argent back together for a US tour? Ah well, it all worked out in the end, even if it took another 40 years.

All I know about Piers Bedford is that he directed the first promo for The Cure in late 1978/early 1979 - 10.15 Saturday Night. He also directed a nice documentary called Punk: The Early Years which has turned up on one of the Freeview channels (Talking Pictures? London Live?) recently. He obviously had quite a career in music promos and documentary films: www.bfi.org.uk/films-tv-people/4ce2ba06c7124www.imdb.com/name/nm1140809/

Have you ever seen the session men they got to promote it on tv? Hilarious? Terrible miming and loads of long hair!
