Would love to see this but it's doubtful.
Isn't it rather difficult to buy tickets at the BFI? Do you have to become a member?
By the time you add up train fares etc and the fact I'd have to get about two buses, a train and numerous tube jousrneys, it makes it a bit of a saga.
Hopefully the kal June pop event will show it!

It's not difficult (online or phone) and you do not have to be a member, although members do have the benefit of priority booking and a discount. Non members can purchase tickets for December screenings from 11:30 on 13th November (6th November for members)

The new MBW press release mentions that this is a live performance! Hope that's correct. I would have assumed that bands guesting on Basil Brush would have mimed but I would love to be wrong on that.
EDIT: David Brunt just confirmed on fb that it was a mime and is described as a live performance in that they appeared in person. Darnit!

Certainly TOTP tended to feature live vocals during this period.

Hi all,
The Kinks performance appears to be a live vocal to a playback. When we transferred the print, it was remarked upon then.
Regards,

Hopefully the kal June pop event will show it! I'm afraid there won't be a screening of this content at a Kal event Kev. The only public screening will be at Missing Believed Wiped. Paul

Paul That's a shame! I imagine my obsession with footie, unwillingness to make a long journey and the fact it's going to be pricy will mean I sadly won't be there. Hopefully the One Show might show us a brief clip a la Morecombe and Wise or maybe bbc4 might use it one day.

What else is left of this series of Basil Brush? Is this the only one? (I like the Kinks, but I love classic Basil!)

Lovely to see Ridney Bewes presenting, for the first time. There is also some television history associated with this episode and discussed in-vision. Philip has stated publicly that he does have more episodes of Basil Brush, but I have no idea which series they are from or whether they are missing editions. Paul
