If I remember correctly, about a month ago there was an auction where they sold William Hartnell’s original script for An Unearthyl Child and camera scripts for all 6 episodes of Fury from Victor Pemberton’s collection. My question is, how many original scripts, specifically original camera scripts survivie from the missing episodes? I remember seeing on the Power of the Daleks animation that they used the original camera scripts for the episodes as references. Where did these scripts come from? Do they just borrow them from collectors? Does the BBC have copies of all of the original camera scripts in their archives? I’m curious because I see very little discussion on this topic when these original scripts could be one of the most crucial references for future animations, recons, etc.
Basically, are original scripts from every missing episode known to exist, and if so, do the BBC retain these copies or are they scattered across the globe?

They do all exist. They were put on the Lost TV Episodes Sets. The War Machines also originate on microfilm according to AudioGO's release of The TV Episodes Collection Six.

The BBC do retain the copies. I think, most likely they do.

The BBC Written Archive retains copies of scripts for almost every Doctor Who episode between 1963 and 1989.
As Shawn indicates, the relevant scripts were included as PDFs on the CDs when the Lost TV Episodes sets were released a few years ago as well as appearing on some of the later individual Tom Baker soundtracks. The scripts for The Enemy of the World were included on the recent DVD and the forthcoming Blu-ray sets will also contain PDFs of the scripts for each respective season.
Oddly, the only scripts that the BBC haven't got are for The Brain of Morbius, so if anyone knows anyone who has copies, do get in touch!

!!!! I think I have Brain of Morbius! It was given to me by an ex-BBC producer in 1985. I shall look for it.

(Perhaps he "borrowed" it from the BBC's collection.)

You can only form a proper long-term stratagy when you become sure that there's a market for the product. You try to make what you produce as attractive to the potential audience as possible, but no company is going to commit to a range that, in the end, nobody wants to buy.

No region 1 release for The Enemy of the World special edition, then?

Hi Ian, These were my Fury Scripts, I put these up for auction for quick turnaround cash, my main business is actually buying/selling Doctor Who props / production items / artefacts so I get to be on the front line with collectors/ex crew and get to see items that are totally mind blowing. I have always previously concentrated my efforts onto Exhibition/Convention and Props, but only lately within the past couple of years turned my direction into Production / Documentation / Footage / Props so my own collection is something interesting you could say. As to where did those scripts come from, a good friend and client of mine obtained them from one of Victors friends who I have also become friendly with and they are lovely people, they had sold certain items on for Victor many years ago - I also obtained photographs/negatives from fury which I no longer own - but most if not all were published. I've actually attached one of the images for your pleasure of viewing, although this is the first time I have posted an image so it might not appear correctly or of good size. I am meeting an ex 1960's crew member this weekend for production items, please do not ask what episode or who as this is private and I keep my clients private, but be assured the correct people will be informed if there is anything that needs to be kept for archive.
