Does any eps. of a TV programme on Saturday morning called 'Get Fresh' exist. They used to have a spaceship called the Millennium Dustbin which landed in places around the UK and they would do a show there. One week it landed in Trunch, Norfolk!! And who was there? Sid and Henry Kipper. When interviewed by the female presenter they did all their patter, she was clearly mystified.

I remember it - Gaz Top presented it, and the Millennium Dustbin rang a faint bell, but apart from that, my mind is a blank. A cursory inspection of Youtube turns up clips which you've probably already seen. I'd be amazed if complete episodes were not lurking here and there in people's off-air VHS collections, especially if the show was visiting the neighbourhood.

All of the episodes survive on 1" tapes!
This is even more surprising when you consider that some of the episodes were made by TVS and a couple of other ITV companies who later lost or wiped certain childrens' shows.

IIRC Tyne Tees produced the studio parts, I remember Gilbert being used in a print ad in the Beano, & the copyright was for Tyne Tees.

Love to see the Dundee one again.
Gaz top coming on stage and shouting "Hello Aberdeen"
To which we all shouted a four letter word followed by off.
Little did we realise our teacher was behind us :-D
100 lines even though it wasn't a school day.

IIRC Tyne Tees produced the studio parts, I remember Gilbert being used in a print ad in the Beano, & the copyright was for Tyne Tees. ah,get fresh'that was my second favourite saturday morning show as a kid after 'multi-coloured swap shop' & was the most acclaimed show at that time since 'tiswas'.i have seen every single edition in its three-year run(1986-88) & i remembered visiting the first aberdeen edition when it was broadcast live from the queen's links near the aberdeen beach as i forced my parents the day before to be there & we did! it was a great family day out at the time & during at the time it was broadcast i shook hands at gaz top's co-presenter charlotte hindle.the show was created by 'yoof tv' queen & current loose woman janet street-porter who was also the executive producer & i think she originally made it for the early teens like her other show 'network 7' the following year which was targeted at older teens.like harry secombe's 'highway' tyne tees actually owned the rights to the 'get fresh' show but all the shows were produced by the smaller ITV stations but not the big 5 companies.tyne tees were responsible for the rights to 'get fresh''highway' & 'about britain'but the company wanted the 10 ITV smaller stations to make the programmes(anglia,HTV(wales/west),tyne tees,TVS,STV,border, channel, grampian, ulster & TSW).in it's first 2 years 8 out of the 10 smaller stations did it with the exception of TVS & channel.they did'nt want TVS to contribute to the series as they did 'no.73'.channel was excluded too as it was a live saturday morning show done by the companies OB units, they were the only ITV company & the only UK company at the time not to have a OB unit, but they did the comedy segments with andrew o'connor & sandi toksvig.for the third season in 1988 TVS only did 1 edition for the visit to beaulieu the following year they also did 1 edition for it's replacement 'ghost train'.i do remember for the address which was 'get fresh P.O.box 1,000,000 london!so if someone would take part in their competitions that address was sent to tyne tees' london offices.adrian mole himself gian sammarco co-presented the first half of season1,but left to work on 'the growing pains of adrian mole' & at the same time did a segment on the show called 'my weekend' the vicious boys took over the second half & for the last 2 seasons gaz & charlotte's long-serving co-presenter at the time was gilbert the alien which tyne tees also owned the rights to this fictional alien and went on to do 2 series of his own'gilbert's fridge'(1988) & 'gilbert's late(1990).he had his own cartoon strip with the 'get fresh' crew in look-in from 1987 to it's demise in 1988.the name 'the millenium dustbin' was thought up by a viewer & won it on one of it's first competitions & the design of the ship was brilliantly designed by tyne tees' in-house designer peter bingemann(now a BAFTA awards designer) & was a better looking design of a ship than the USS enterprise in 'star trek' & the liberator in 'blake's 7'!all the other segments on the show like 'get lost' & 'get the joke' were done by all the other ITV companies and thanked them in the closing credits also ITN did the 'get the news'bit.this must be a expensive saturday morning show at the time,as JSP did it for tyne tees was that her first choice or did she orignally offered it LWT?there was also a sunday edition too from 1987 to 1988 but it was made by border television & was filmed t their music shed next door to their television centre in carlisle.one thing im confused is if 'get fresh' is the property of tyne tees how come border made the sunday editions?
