As everyone is no doubt aware, DODG has a particularly poor survival rate. I have noticed, however that Wikipedia only lists 11 surviving episodes from the b/w era with excerpt from other episodes. However missing episodes now lists 25 b/w episodes as existing complete which is considerably better. Has there been a significant recovery recently or is Wikipedia simply well out of date?

Error in the listing here- Kaleidoscope shows most of these as being incomplete, and past discussion here indicates that there is a pile of episodes from the late 1960s for which the film inserts survive but not the segments originally on videotape.

Ah, OK so the Wiki quote of 11 is probably more realistic then?

He means THIS page rather than Kal's TVbrain: www.thiswaydown.org/missing-episodes/dixon.htmI wouldn't attach much value to the wikipedia information; it all depends on whether any passerby happened to update it and had enough information. In fact you might as well correct the page using the data from ME and Kaleidoscope. (I did the same for a few other shows' pages from that time.)

Yeah, that's the page. Interestingly enough I'm pretty sure that the missing episodes page USED to show numbers of surviving episodes more like that quoted on Wiki, hence my enquiry if there had been a significant recovery of 14 b/w episodes. I don't currently have access to the TV Brain page.

Right in terms of what page was meant, and right in terms of the limitations of Wikipedia- this was the discussion we had five years ago involving questions about Dixon material: missingepisodes.proboards.com/thread/8214/dixon-dock-green

So are there any plans to release the surviving black and white Dixons on DVD?

Dear Mr Douglas Thank you for your email. Unfortunately there are no plans at the moment to release further series of Z-Cars or Dixon of Dock Green. Kind regards Sandra. Stuart

There are a few existing colour ones that did not make the three volumes so far released. I thought there was only one surviving colour episode not included on the Dixon DVDs ... 'Molenzicht' (1 Jan 1972). Which other existing colour episodes were not included?
