Well, they've got the Xmas message in the can 😀 To be honest, I am surprised there isn't more fan made material like this out there. Other franchises have a vast body of fan made films etc, but not who. Lots of fanfic, but that is a fairly solitary pursuit. Maybe Who fans aren't as sociable as trek and star wars fans? I dunno.

this anti-recasting business is so stupid and makes Doctor Who fans look up themselves. Where would Hanna-Barbera and Warner Brothers and Disney be if they had said at the end of the eighties, "Oh! Clarence Nash, Daws Butler and Mel Blanc are dead! Guess we can't do anything more with their characters!"

Disney also have a habit of remaking many of their live-action films for the next generation, e.g. Parent Trap, Jungle Book, Pete's Dragon... even though there was nothing wrong with the originals. With Doctor Who we don't even have the original masters, so I really don't see a problem with remaking them. Yes, it will cost a lot of money but the global sales would make them profitable surely...?

Why not remake Evil 7 X 25 if you think about it many of the current Nu Who series have filler material in them that don't advance the plot at all

I think that's a little harsh, plenty of other shows have stopped using characters when the actors died. The Simpsons being a classic example, but countless other tv shows have done it as well. Some consider it a sign of respect.

I would remake the Hartnell stories, with David Bradley, but not the Troughton ones.
I think Patrick Troughton is irreplaceable, but William Hartnell's persona was much more straight forward, IMVHO.
Or perhaps it's a personal thing because I really am so fond of Patrick Troughton that I would be forever disappointed it wasn't him in a remake and that would spoil it for me.
And the story I would remake first is Dalek's Masterplan.

And the story I would remake first is Dalek's Masterplan. If that would happen, who would you like to play these characters? Steven, Katarina, Sara, Bret Vyon, Mavic Chen and The Meddling Monk?

I don't have any great opinions on this, but I can have a think. Charles Dance for Mavic Chen perhaps? Unlike Troughton, and his companions, actually, I don't have an emotional connection with any of the other original actors. Richard

Charles Dance would be superb as Mavic Chen.

They should not redo the missing episodes, but they could do 'Farewell Great Macedon' and 'Fragile Yellow Arc of Fragrance' and more of that sort (never made First Doctor stories).

With episode remakes, I'm personally happy to wait until CGI technology is so advanced it can more or less recreate the episodes with some degree of accuracy. I know that sounds a little outlandish but just compare CGI 10 years ago to now, in a decade or two I really think we'll be at that level where it can be done easily and cheaply using mostly computer guidance and computer generation.
