Who knows, if you recorded audio off the TV back then, you might have the odd missing program. There's also a few cases where the archives have the picture (video), but managed to loose the sound. I've for example been asking people for the audio of one Ripping Yarns episode in its longer cut, but apparently it's already been found. Just out of interest, which episode of Ripping Yarns?

Murder at Morestones Manor. Some extended scenes were later trimmed and their audio was lost. They are on the DVD as a bonus feature with subtitles. But apparently it's already been found. Perhaps one day, if there is a bluray...

I'm not familiar with Moonstrike. Music was by Dudley Simpson, so I'm curious to hear how it sounds. A bit before my time, but I am presuming this is the title music? The incidental music... not a clue! Here's a Radio Times listing for a 1964 repeat of the recovered episode of Moonstrike. Hopefully this should embed in the post.

I'm always amazed what's hidden in plain sight. I’m not sure why this needs a “Recovery Update” then? To be fair, it's been listed in the UK as missing for a while - so it seems no one had put 2+2 together.

There was a similar Python one-off in 1976. Was this a fresh sketch show, or just an interview?(I think it was part of one of BBC's anniversaries)

Do you have any links / information / memories? It was a FESTIVAL 40 episode, described in Robert Ross' book both as a special "Monty Python's Flying Circus" written and performed by all six, and Chapman being interviewed by David Gillard. I don't have any memories because I didn't live in England.

This was a repeat of the Montreux Festival Special episode from 1971, broadcast as part of the Fest 40 season on 16/8/76. The interview with Chapman was only printed in the Radio Times; it wasn't a TV appearance.
