Hello everyone, been reading this page for a very long time but this is my first time posting.
I'm just curious about Villiers House - obviously the BBC moved out, and a few years later The Ice Warriors turned up there, but was VH ever searched afterwards or anything like that? I'm aware now that it's very unlikely to be anything there but I'm more curious than anything as I've only ever heard it mentioned in terms of 1978 and after that it drops off the radar - I was just wondering what happened with everything? Apologies if this has already been discussed.
Thanks!
Greg

My understandings is that it is believed everything the bbc owned, (including villers house) has been fully checked.

The Ice Warriors was found in 1988 when whatever department it was that occupied that particular floor was packing up during their relocation to a different building. Some departments stayed on at VH for a few more years, but the BBC had fully vacated the building in the early 1990s. It's doubtful they'd have left anything behind.

I had my first BBC lunch in that building in July 1985...

I thought as much, the way the building is now suggests that it was totally cleared out and renovated, but I was just curious as to the 'journey' it took to get there more than anything! Thanks

I've often wondered what must have happened to parts 2 and 3 of the Ice Warriors. Presumably all six parts were sitting there together once upon a time. What can have happened?

IIRC Part 1 was in a can labelled Part 2.

Hope I am right in saying this but I believe I read somewhere one theory is that the missing 2 episodes of ice warriors did not require "cutting copies" to be made as they were not damaged like the other 4 parts hence why those cans said "cutting copies" when found. Please can someone confirm if this was a possibility. It's intrigued me in the past to.

It's hard to say since we've never really been told where and how the films were found in order to get a clear picture of the circumstances behind their discovery. Some accounts say they were found shoved into the back of a cupboard, whereas others say they'd fallen down behind a set of shelves or filing cabinets... At a guess, I'd say episodes 2 and 3 did not "fall behind the cabinets", and were ultimately junked.

The ice warriors and the web of fear both two classic nearly complete Troughton's found ...I'd still rather have what we have of them than nothing at all of course

Wasnt one of the cans labelled Fury from the Deep ep6? Yep, and it had something like a Warship or a documentary in it or something...
