Grasping as ever at straws and aiming a shot in the dark. Patrick Troughton was in many programmes in the 1960s and 70s. Has his family ever been approached to see if, by any stroke of fortune he had any of his episodes at home? Thinking of the joy for his sons David annd Michael (also actors) sat watching the Evil of the Daleks with their Dad? Not once but several times.

I'd think that with the close ties that the Troughton family has held with Doctor Who (and the world of film in general) that even if through some unlikely event they haven't been approached about it, they would certainly know about the missing episodes. Also keep in mind that Patrick Troughton was still alive for almost ten years of the missing episode search and that if he or his family had any in their possession they would probably have returned them. Most people who might have missing episodes in their possession would be people who are unaware of missing media or people who are purposefully keeping them from the public and the Troughton family is neither of those things.
