Hello everyone! I'm a first time poster here, but first discovered the forum back in 2013, during the omniromour and discovery of Enemy and Web. I recently returned a few weeks ago when my interest in the missing episodes spiked again, and thought I'd be a great idea to join in on the action! As a lighthearted way to say hi, I thought it would be fun to resurrect the favourite story per season polls again, with one for Season 2, especially since we're in the middle of a bit of a dry run. Regarding the poll, we have been blessed with the fact that all but two episodes survive from this crucial early season, making it extremely easy to view, judge, and enjoy every story from it (even The Crusade to a good level) It's been a while since I've visited it, but my favourite story would have to be The Time Meddler, followed by The Dalek Invasion on Earth, and The Chase, which is a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine. Time Meddler, because of superb performances from the regular cast and Peter Butterworth, tight direction by Douglas Camfield, a neat pseudo-historical story by Dennis Spooner, and it's realisation on screen. This may all change when I revisit it though 😂 Anyway, thanks in advance for your votes and posts

I love the Chase due to it being the first ever story I watched.

Yes! Such a fun story, if a bit silly at times

A great season. Not a stinker in the bunch. The first episode of Space Museum is one of my all-time favorite episodes. The Dalek stories are classics, and Time Meddler is sublime. Really, just a great season all round. But for me the sheer weirdness of Web Planet makes it one of my favorite stories.

Nice choice Tom. Got to agree, a great season. Just consistent all round. Got to love the surrealness of Web! Vaseline on the camera and giant butterfly creatures were inspired choices

Dalek Invasion of Earth gets my vote. I am choosing this story for a sentimental reason - the last one with the Original Tardis Crew (Dr, Susan and the two teachers). The stories that follow Dalek Invasion are indeed brilliant and these serials make season 2 what it is - 'A Fantastic Season', but the series was never quite the same once the original team started to break up.

Time Meddler gets my vote as it was one of the first B&W's i saw in the late 1980s on an Nth Generation VHS copy my older brother got his hands on. As I recall it was in EP/SLP speed not having all episodes or even in order. The first Hartnell I ever saw. The serial that made me fall in love with B&W Dr Who!

Got to go for The Time Meddler. It's not perfect, but I love the Meddling Monk, one of the best one-off villains of all time (or two-off I guess because of DMP)

I love the Time Meddler for its ideas and Peter Butterworth, but for mood, iconic imagery and classic science-fiction plot, it's go to be the Dalek Invasion of Earth. I can remember as a kid that Dalek coming up out of the Thames, for me one of the great memories of Doctor Who.

Really hard to choose, and my preference probably swaps around according to my mood. Went with The Romans this time, just a really good historical story that's well paced, very entertaining and got some very well done fight scenes.

The first Harty story I ever saw was The Dalek Invasion of Earth so that gets my vote on nostalgia, as well as merit.

Thanks for the votes everyone. Locked the poll because I just realised there is already polls for Seasons 2-6 already. More polls may happen though.

Supprised the Web Planet beat the Chase.... Didn't expect that. Even the Space Museum beat it! Chase was always near the top of my list... Anyway, interesting to see the landslide of votes given to The Time Meddler over Dalek Invasion of Earth. And poor Giants! Again, thanks for the votes!

To be honest, even though I will always rate The Dalek Invasion of Earth highly I have also always loved The Web Planet. Yes, the Zarbi are far superior to the dopey Dalek and others in The Chase and always will be in my book!
