I loved the DVD range too but it could be, unless more are discovered, that that is it! They MAY decide to animate more but I know Power was a big undertaking. Buy if it sells well enough, maybe they may consider more.
If it is the end at least Power was a better goodbye than the Underwater Menace DVD.

Power seemed to do well however they haven't released any statistics so we don't know. If it has turned over a profit we may get another animation, they'd probably be most likely to do a story with large name recognition like Evil Of The Daleks or Fury From The Deep as they'd sell the best.

I think The Macra Terror would be fantastic and would suit animation very well.

I think The Macra Terror would be fantastic and would suit animation very well. Yeah especially with how surreal that one is.

I really hope they animate evil of the daleks next, I've always wanted to watch it. I've watched the reconstruction, it's a bloody great story! Personally my most wanted would be The Daleks' Master Plan. Even though out of unanimated missing episodes I prefer Evil and Marco Polo and the project would be so big it's unlikely it'll happen any time soon, I just think that considering how unlikely to the point of near certainty that we'll never get it back and how absolutely brilliant episodes 1 to 5 and 12 are (some of Doctor Who's best in fact) I would want it most. Maybe one day when animation methods are cheaper....

For The Dalek Masterplan they could do Part 1 and then Part 2 later on that year.

Evil would be the same amount of work as power. Both have 6 missing episodes.

Evil would be the same amount of work as power. Both have 6 missing episodes. There's a lot more set and costume detail in Evil than Power however as it has the whole Victorian thing going on.

May 20th would be the 50th anniversary of EVIL OF THE DALEKS I haven't watched it yet. It's the only Troughton I haven't seen and I've been saving watching it for the anniversary.

Something just hit me: if they can recover the pilfered Episode 3 of The Web of Fear, would it be worth their while to then do the The Abominable Snowmen? It seems like a natural fit.

Something just hit me: if they can recover the pilfered Episode 3 of The Web of Fear, would it be worth their while to then do the The Abominable Snowmen? It seems like a natural fit. I'd think they'd be more likely to do Fury than Snowmen for a couple of reasons: 1. The Abominable Snowmen is, at this time, one of the most likely serials to be recovered. That isn't saying much because I wouldn't say that any, barring Web 3, are "likely" to be recovered, but if another serial were to be returned, I would put it on Wheel or Snowmen so the BBC probably wouldn't want to risk putting a lot of money into something that could become obsolete in a year or two. 2. Barring The Space Pirates and The Wheel in Space (unless they find it), if the BBC animated Fury from the Deep, it would significantly increase the number of serials that a new viewer can start with and watch every episode consecutively to the modern day. Currently you have to start at the Dominators, but if Fury were to be animated you could start at the Ice Warriors. If Snowmen were animated then you'd still have to start with The Dominators. 3. Fury from the Deep is just better known and generally considered to be better than The Abominable Snowmen. I'm not saying that it necessarily is, but as a general consensus, the Doctor Who fandom generally places Fury above Snowmen in both popularity and fame (In the DWM top 200 poll, Fury came in 41st and Snowmen came in 59th. Close, but still a notable margin). This, along with the fact that the name "Fury from the Deep" sounds a lot more awesome than "The Abominable Snowmen" would make marketing a Fury from the Deep animation easier than marketing a Snowmen animation.
In the end, I don't think that either of them should really be animated as they are the two episodes (along with Edge of Destruction, but that one doesn't count because it exists) that simply would not work as animations because the one thing that animations do best on is action and the thing they do worst on is atmosphere. Fury and Snowmen (and Edge), above all other episodes, rely on their atmosphere. Snowmen especially has almost no action in it other than episode 2 and, to a lesser degree, episodes 4 and 6. It's good because of its atmosphere and that is something that the animations fail to capture 99% of the time (I think this is one of the reasons why The Reign of Terror animation failed so badly. Most of the episode was just sitting an talking with almost no action). Fury on the other hand has virtually no action at all until episode 5 and episode 6. All of the action scenes before then are extant, Quill and Oak, Van Lutyens, Jamie and the Doctor in the impeller, and Robson attacking the guard. I just think that neither Snowmen nor Fury would really work as an animation (This is also why I think Toymaker would make an amazing animation. It is like 90% action and the animation would help give it the real, but not completely real uncanny valley effect that the serial maintains throughout its duration). If I could choose one episode in season 5 to be animated in would be Wheel in Space because a. Reason 2 above, b. It has the Cybermen, and c. It already has a third of its episodes extant.
