There's been some crazy rumors going about, and that 4 day countdown thing. Think any Doctor Who is coming back soon?

We just have to wait and see if there is any Doctor Who. based on past experience's they will want to make a big issue out of the announcement rather than a 5 line Facebook announcement. Look at the difference in how much information came out for The Avengers episode recovery compared to the Softy Softy episode recovery

If a missing episode/missing clip were recovered, how would the BBC announce it?

It proves that there is really significant material still out there - but I think we knew that ! Even before Philip Morris hit the jackpot in Jos the view of the likes of Paul Vanezis was that there were probably prints in private collections and we only have to look at where Airlock and UM2 came from. The difficulty is that film print collecting is probably on the decline and those involved are getting older and/or dieing off:-(

If a missing episode/missing clip were recovered, how would the BBC announce it? I think it would depend upon exactly what was found. An episode with, for example, Daleks or Cybermen would probably get quite a lot of coverage. I'm sorry to say that an episode from something like the Massacre or Highlanders would be lucky to get a footnote - although I'm sure that most fans of the original series would be absolutely delighted. I don't think that a clip would get much coverage:-(

Don't know about the countdown thing but I stumbled across an article in the Dantalksdoctorwho site showing links to photos of Anneke Wills pictured with the TARDIS at the beach /cave locations from The Smugglers. I make no comment, just sharing this.

I don't think that a clip would get much coverage:-( Underwater Menace and Galaxy 4 got mentioned on the radio in the morning but nothing for the rest of that day, and beyond a few sci- fi and cult tv sites there was barely a stir in the national media. I think that's why BFI got the gig. Hugely important for us obviously, but of only passing interest to Mr Not We. It took a combination of two virtually complete stories and the 50th anniversary to launch WebEnemy into the national psyche. I mean, how many news items are there for 'Tunnel of Fear' or "Softly Softly?" As you suggest John, no Daleks/Cybermen - no story. As for the OP question. I'm not getting my hopes up for any announcement anytime soon. I mean, there is a possibility that Web and Enemy may be the very last Dr Who episodes ever to be recovered. That time is going to come one day but we will never know when it is..........................

Oh well maybe it works better with the visuals. Probably just a coincidence though).

I'll still take smugglers if found, but the BBC style has not been to be doing advance teasers like those photographs It feels like it is more from an on location for a DVD extra than a missing episode find. Could be part of power DVD extra

Has it been confirmed, or is there at least an inkling, as to where these missing episodes are being sourced from?
