If this conjecture turns out to be correct then whilst I will support the animation I will do so with a heavy heart as it will mean the end of the road for the search for the real episodes. If some other classic such as Evil, Snowmen or Fury turned up then that would at least be compensation for the loss of Power... just. But i shall keep my fingers crossed that these predictions are wrong! Of course it isn't the end of the search. It means they aren't aware of anything at the moment, but that is another matter.

This level of secrecy over what might just be purely animation is a bit OTT isn't it? Animation is so subjective. Are the renditions of the actor's faces correct? Are the scenes faithful even to tele-snaps?And it seems a bit rich to release this when EOTW and WOF were released without any extras whatsoever. Surely WOF3 warranted animation? Strange but as my learned friend George says we must back this 100%.To quote a scene from Woody Allen's movie Stardust Memories :empty sex is better than no sex right?

And looking at the animation on YouTube it looks like it's the same animation company that did Ice Warriors 2 and 3.

I think we all know why Web wasn't animated. I don't think Auntie was expecting there'd still be no sign of it five years on.

Do you know if there will be an official DVD release in the US? More than likely, though no official date has been announced. BBC America will show the story on November 12th and have it up for streaming the following day.

They said before broadcasting was the only viable way they could think of to plug the funding gap to do a decent number of episodes so it seems BBC America took it on themselves to fill that gap. Shame they weren't around 50 years ago, we might have been able to dodge this bullet entirely if there were a few extra copies floating around the US.

My mind boggles at the idea that Power of the Daleks will air on BBC America. Animated yes, but the same voices. If they were smart, they'd air Tenth Planet first!

Restoration? That's not strictly true is it?An adaption yes, restoration not really-the original film or videotape elements aren't there. It has to be marketed I suppose. But yes,I'm going to absolutely love it when it arrives on DVD.I suppose it would be too much to ask for it also to have production noted and commentary. That would really be the cherry on this sweet cake!
