Hi Everyone, Just thought I would alert you all to an upload on you tube in stunning quality of this short in the look at life series featuring Helen which I know is very rare. Appologies if this has been already flagged up in another thread before but as a newcomer to the forums there may be somebody who has not seen it before.. www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWSqOvqdO-M&spfreload=10Last time I saw this was a brief snippet at the Beatles at abbey rd presentation in 1982 where they used the studio shots of Helen singing as part of the documentary shown at the time. It is a real time capsule!! Enjoy...

Thank you William, I am glad you liked it. I seem to remember that in The Beatles At Abbey Rd video the places where Helen was singing was I think remixed into Stereo at the time as the backing singers could be heard panned hard onto one channel only during the video or so I thought so at the time. The bootlegs of the entire show are in very good mono apart from the actual beatles recordings themselves which can be found in stereo versions elsewhere so impossible to verify this is the case. Does anyone lucky enough to go to the shows at the time remember this or is it just me??

It's weird seeing that the backing vocalists are 50-somethings! I always imagined them the same age or slightly older than Shapiro!
Similar situation to Bobby Rydell, his backing vocalists were older women too, but had a young sound.

Found this a few weeks back - good to see the whole film as the clip of Helen singing walking back To happiness has been used in many documentaries over the years including the Rock N Roll Years which i think linked it with some other documentary footage of her at school gates waving goodbye to her friends - does anyone know where that originates from?

For anybody interested, this Helen Shapiro film is available as part of the "A Look at Life" series reissued on DVD sets by Network. This film is on the set titled "Look at Life: Volume 7 - Business and Industry".
I've bought most of the series and found 90% of them absolutely fascinating!
