First, please read nothing into posting. It is purely me speculating.
Most of us want all 96 missing Dr. Who episodes to be found and restored.
But what would happen if this did happen and all the episodes had been recovered at approximately the same time? (As per the omni rumour)
Stage 1. All episodes recovered and taken to a central location
Stage 2. Restoration work begins. 96 episodes could take a long, long time to restore.
Descision 1. Is an announcement made when all 96 episodes have been restored or part of the way through the restoration?
Descision 2. Will the restored episodes be made available to the public and if so in what format? I think most of us would prefer DVD for consitency.
Stage 3. Release to public begins. NOTE:- The missing episodes fall into 2 groups
a) Missing stories (9) b) Stories completed with missing episodes. (17 stories)
Assuming Dalek Masterplan is divided into 2 parts that would make 26 stories to be released. (26 DVDs)
NOTE:- At a cost of £15 + per DVD. That's at least £380 to shell out......!
Descision 3. What order to release the stories and at what rate?
It would make finacial sense to alernate releasing a) Missing stories with b) Stories completed and at a rate of 1per month.
That would take just over 2 years to release everything.
It would be better to release the least popular tales first and hold back the great classics.
Stage 4. Releases begin.
1. Tenth Planet (for publicity) 2. The Smugglers 3, Space Pirates 4. Myth Makers 5. Underwater Menace
6. The Massacre 7. Invasion 8. The Highlanders 9. Web of Fear 10. The Savages
11. The Faceless Ones 12. The Crusaders 13. The Moonbase 14. Land of Fear 15. Ice Warriors
16. Galaxy 4 17. Abominable Snowmen 18. Celestial Toyroom 19. Wheel in Space 20. Marco Polo
21. Macra Terror 22. Fury from the Deep 23. Dalek Master Plan (1) 24.Dalek Masterplan (2)
25. Evil of the Daleks 26. Power of the Daleks.
Stage 5. Release of the Complete Story of Doctor Who - a 14 DVD set with clips from each story, 1 disc for each
Doctor.
Stage 6. Colourisation of all B & W episodes begins.....
This is meant as a bit of fun or guidance for anybody who might be lucky enough to recover a large number of episodes.
And NO! I know absulutely NOTHING!
But it makes you think how much it might cost YOU to get all those episodes and how long it may take once releases begin.
