Hmm, there is some really nice stuff on there, but I am mainly interested in Barrett era Floyd, so a lion's share of that material would be somewhat wasted on me in honesty. I wonder if there is any remote possibility of some individual CD/ DVD releases of this material or if I am eventually going to have to cave and get the lot for around a quarter of the material? Probably the latter I suspect.
Either way about, this is an impressive release for hardcore fans! Great to see the TOTPs clip finally seeing the light of day with an official release!!!!

The "bonus disc" will only be available as part of the box set, but it appears that the intention is for most (or all?) of the other discs to be made available separately sometime next year.

That is much more generous than I had hoped for. Extremely cool news. To be honest, I can easily do without Atom heart mother related stuff, but the early recordings on there will be welcome additions to my collection. To each their own with different eras of floyd. I shall keep an eye out for legit releases from this set.

Clarification from the press release - rather than the individual discs, six of the seven "book style packages" will be made available separately early in 2017. The "Bonus Continuation" will remain exclusive to the box. www.pinkfloyd.com/news/pdfs/Pink_Floyd_The_Early_Years_Press_Release.pdf

I was thinking it was going to be a rehash of albums and b-sides but it looks rather good. crammed full of goodies. Shame about the price though

Looks good, let's hope the Blu-ray is encoded properly by people who know what they're doing, not like the disastrous Beatles 1 from Apple.

Shame about the price though Each set will be sold individually in 2017 apart from the bonus content. In total there'll be six releases so you won't need to fork out for the box set if you prefer to buy them one at a time.

Personally I think I'm probably just going to bite the bullet and pre-order the box set. I know some of the Syd stuff is already available in HYGIY but otherwise there's a lot of good things there that will keep me interested for hours I'm sure...

Back in the day my lovely local record shop split the Pink Floyd CD reissues(the ones with the black perspex cd cases. I was able to buy the bonus CD single"The first 4" for £3.99. Where do we go now for such purchases(apart from the bay?)

Let's be honest, the 'bonus' (i.e. previously unissued or rarer) material that won't be sold separately is all that most fans want and that's why it's been included as part of this expensive and largely unnecessary set to get them to buy the albums all over again. Similar thing as happened with the Bowie set "Five Years" (even though that was priced at under £100) - thank you, but we only want the 'Re-Call' CD tracks in that one as we already have all the albums anyway. No wonder bootleggers seize on stuff like this and repro it, and the record companies and / or the artists only have themselves to blame. Make the bonus / hard to get tracks available on a commercially available CD / LP (even if it's going to be at full price) and fans would stump up for it.

Yeah, that's great thinking on their part ... make the official release of hard-to-get stuff itself hard to get. Thanks, guys
