One of my comedy heroes. Was introduced to him in the 70s here in the States when PBS ran The Two Ronnies. It has been 40 years but I still break into laughter whenever I hear "fork handles." He and Ronnie Barker made my teenage years a lot more fun. Sad day, but what a great career!

RIP Ronnie. Another national treasure who can delight us no more...
I always thought he never really had the chance to show how good he was as an actor - I think he suffered a little (though he never would have said as much) from being in Ronnie Barker's shadow. And, yes, "Sorry" was not the greatest of sitcoms (although I thoroughly enjoyed it at the time), but Barker had a complete gift handed to him with "Porridge", and again with "Open All Hours". I'd have liked to Ronnie C get a few like that, too.

Nice to see Snowy & co signing off C4 news last night with "And it's goodnight from me and it's goodnight from him". Couldn't be a more fitting tribute really. It would be nice to see The Phantom Raspberry Blower and the Charlie Farley & Piggy Malone shorts again sometime. Didn't Spike write the Phantom Raspberry Blower?

Perhaps I should have fully explained:
The class sketch at the start of the BBC tribute has Corbett with a moustache and Cleese has a newspaper under his arm.

Sorry, wrong name... Make that second one "Frost Over England". I hadn't noticed until now myself that they'd re-recorded the sketch.
