Programme profiling-the big BFI donation.

A few years,back,the a new searchable database was created at Unionsearch,where delighted members of this forum found/revealed perhaps a few hundred shows which had been donated to the BFI decades before,and had remained uncatalogued until then.Many of the shows were from ITV,with the majority,perhaps,from the 70s.
Many shows followed.I'm wondering if there's some easy way of identifying likely finds.Where would be the best place to look for a definitive list of broadcasts for the period? Is there any documentation about the donation/s?

Can anybody please clarify what was found on Crossroads? Where was it announced? Were these episodes unknown to exist before this?

the above link says..Out of an original total of 4521 episodes, 2851 episodes are Missing and 11 others exist on
formats inferior to the original...less the following 21 ME's confirmed as held today..
