Just thought i'd mention that You Tube seems to be getting quite vicious with its removal of videos recently.
I have a main channel and a secondary channel that I sometimes use to check if there are any copy-write issues with a clip i wish to upload and I try to keep my uploads to clips that are not commercially available .
I have recently had a couple of copywrite strikes against my main channel and have had to go through the clips to hopefully remove any vulnerable material to prevent the channel being suspended . I never upload any full shows - I just wish to share footage that otherwise wouldn't be seen and I have had several messages of thanks from the artists I have featured.
Has anyone else had the same problem ?

I know what you mean, it's all down to the bots I'm afraid one of the reasons i've give up with youtube

I thought they had purges periodically... where, say you'll find a load of Beatles' promo films that have been there some time, have suddenly vanished into the ether.
I'd not considered bots playing a part in this - I always assumed it was down to their file-recognition software and perhaps people employed to trawl the site for copyrighted material. This now makes a lot of sense and answers why some 'duplicates' are left alone, while others are taken down.
