Does anyone know if a list of all movies reviewed on the BBC FILM TV series is easily accessible anywhere (preferably online), on an episode-by-episode basis? I'm particularly interested in 1979/1980, when presented by Barry Norman.
Are any old episodes from this era still available for viewing?
Thanks

The only place there would be a list of any kind is at BBC Written Archives, where the clips used would be credited to the copyright owners on PasBs. I'm not sure about an actual list of films that were only talked about / reviewed though; possibly this information would be in the programme scripts, if there are any for this particular programme. I'm not sure about archive holdings for the Film...series; I expect quite a few (all?) will still exist from the 1979 / 1980 era but don't know if any are viewable anywhere (at the BFI's viewing area if anywhere, probably). Sorry I can't be of more help.

Thanks for the info.
After I posted, I remembered the BBC Genome website which has the details as per the Radio Times, and lists the main 2 or 3 films per episode. But it would be good to get a definitive list.

I've got a recording of "Best of Film '79" recorded just into the new year of 1980. Sort of a best of all the films released in '79

THe BFI MIGHT be able to get them from the BBC, if the reason is good enough. That isn't free, by the way, but not terribly expensive either.
