Will do Simon, don't worry! Just to let you know, the film can is only 7 inches across and a quick Google search indicates that the film will be roughly 400ft long and (if it runs at 24fps) therefore around 11 minutes. It wouldn't be the whole program but probably just the segment with Rolf Harris. That's a little gutting but missing footage is missing footage. (If of course it doesn't exist elsewhere!)
I've run all those names by the website and they only ever come up with listings for other dates so still no evidence this one exists.

It's disappointing that it's only 11 minutes but as you say, any find is great news. My interest was more into Georgie Jessel (a famous comedian who goes back to vaudeville), Keeley Smith (Louie Prima's band) and Artie Shaw (a famous bandleader) segments.
Upon googling Rolf Harris it appears that he is alive but in prison for a Jimmy Saville type situation. Which could explain how this footage became available.

Looked in the UCLA Film and Television Archive and The Paley Center for Media, they have no holdings for any of the Cast mentioned above, for the episode dated 27 May 1963, or for any Tonight with Johnny Carson 27 May 1963.

So it seems this segment of the 27th May 63 show may well be the last copy surviving. Not only will I be looking to get this back to an archive where it belongs, I'll do some digging into where this print actually came from. There's a chance that there could be more stuff hiding around.

Good thinking, Simeon. The Carson Estate will pay top-dollar for anything truly rare and missing, I'm sure. I wonder if the source may have been anything to do with the American Forces Network or similar, during the days when there were USAF bases in Britain? I've often pondered as to what might have happened to that stock or source of materials when those air-bases were decommissioned?
