Monday 8 September I made a submission to Lost Shows for the Show..The Entertainers, where Lost Shows says 53 made, 30 episodes Missing.
The submission was that all Series 4 of the following 17 episodes had been placed on youtube. I emailed all the 17 episodes to Kaleisdoscope, so they now have them. Lost Shows database will be updated so the changes will show next time Lost Shows is updated. There still remains 9 episodes Missing for Series 1 and 4 episodes Missing for Series 2, so please go to Lost Shows to see the dates and artists for these remaining Missing Episodes. Here are the 17 episodes..which had a slot of 25 minutes, all have the Grampian ident at their beginning.
1. Kenny Serratt 25.04 minutes 2. Shakin Stevens 23.44 minutes 3. Richard Digance 24.51 minutes 4. Richard Diagance 24.50 minutes 5. Joe Sun with Shotgun 24.24 minutes 6. Lisa Stansfield 23.28 minutes 7. Suzi Quatro 24.26 minutes 8. The Nolans 24.46 minutes 9. Mari Wilson 24.29 minutes 10. Colorado 24.24 minutes 11. Prelude 24.34 minutes 12. Johnny Logan 24.58 minutes 13. The Barron Knights 24.23 minutes 14. Elkie Brooks 25.11 minutes 15. The Cambridge Buskers 24.19 minutes 16. Sundance 23.45 minutes 17. Roy Drusky 24.15 minutes

I've got some episodes of this recorded from tv at the time.
Not sure what they are though, will have to have a look. I didn't realise any were missing.

I don't think we know the tx dates of English regions, and only have partial details for Scotland. ATV didn't run them I believe.

Somewhere I have on VHS tape both the Lindisfarne and Gilbert O'Sullivan episodes of 'The Entertainers' series (not sure what series they are from or if these are 'lost' shows or are among those held)
Lindisfarne feature tracks from their album 'Back and Forth' (hit single 'Run For Home' etc) while Gilbert does tracks from his first CBS album 'Off Centre' with the hit 'What's in a Kiss ?'
They have the old Grampian caption - my recordings are off air from the old Southern TV (or maybe TVS then) region screenings

O/T,but since the Cambridge Buskers get a mention, weren't they in a Doctor Who? Or have I been wrong all this time? I've got a little bit if a John Peel show (?) somewhere where he plays their version of a Glen Miller number.

I've just checked my VHS tape of this.
It actually has 6 episodes of Lets Rock, followed by several Shakin Stevens performances, followed by The Entertainers (Shakin stevens episode)

I'm pretty sure that Shakin' Stevens (with the Sunsets) appeared on Lift Off in 1973 / '74.

How has Kaleisdoscope, (Lost Shows database ) been so poor at being kept up to date? STV uploaded these 4 years ago. Mind you STV have taken down all the Here Hear, which is ashame. Mind you over 200 were created only 60 have been kept, so keep an eye out for these ones aswell TX dates for the first series are clearly wrong, UTV were showing episodes in March and April 1977.

I'm just pleased that you didn't ask how we could all have missed them for four years! The search route for me would have been: Find something distinctive about the series.'Cambridge Buskers' would do. Do a Google search. The Youtube clip comes up on the first page, and leads to the others. Easiest thing in the world. In theory. For me,the most difficult thing is to find that first unusual word/phrase.

I think half the battle is some people and groups like Kaleisdoscope, don't actually know what's is actually lost. Further down the list we go, the worse it gets. This is not a pointy finger type thing, its just something I think needs to changes to make sure the limited resources can be used for truly lost shows.

as I live in the Grampian region, all these comments on 'the entertainers' brought myself back a lot of fond memories of watching this as a kid on Friday nights in the late 70s alongside other shows they did at the time with a national feel such as 'the electric theatre show' & 'the magic of the musicals'.all those audience members at the old queen's cross studios in Aberdeen sitting on seats but I think on specially designed scaffolding-ish sets. Grampian not only gave us Scottish & folk music in their time, but this unique show would perform pop icons of the time, country & western & lounge & easy listening performers.i remembered a few years ago seeing on STV's youtube channel again tom Paxton's performance. wonderful to see it again. is any of 'the entertainers' on STV's channel the only surviving episodes exist?
