Tomorrow (Saturday) BBC2 begins it's new "Champagne On Ice" series, filmed at a specially built ice rink at Camber Sands.
The Hollies and Paul Anka are among the guests in the opening edition.

There was another show of similar glitzy awfulness, The Monte Carlo Show, hosted by Patrick Wayne (son of John). It really was the most hideous and excrable rubbish. An exercise in pure ghastliness with chorus girls and this appalling eye-lashed puppet that flirted with the vile Patrick Wayne, who was the smoothest, slimiest, greasiest of obsequious oleaginous hosts. And it had 5000 Volts in it. I apologise to any fans, but I thought they were terrible.
