while a few were a bit 'plodding' - Simon Dutton himself disliked the one with twins in it ('Blue Dulac' ?) the episodes; 'The Software Murders' and 'Fear in Fun Park' (with Timothy Dalton's Bond's blonde Miss Moneypenny Caroline Bliss guesting) were good
another where ST correctly predicts a change re the situation in Berlin (the old wall then still up !) was quite good too
'Fun Park' was set down under in Australia too giving back The Saint's truly 'International feel' which was largely lost when the classic Roger Moore show went into colour in 1966 (with just the odd exception later like 'Island of Chance' set in the West Indies) as from 1966 onwards it was really just Britain and Europe (mostly France, plus Italy & Germany too occasionally) even in the seventies; 'Return of the Saint'
While Sir Roger Moore & Ian Ogilvy are best remembered as THE TV Saints (60's & 70's) Simon Dutton's 80's six feature length TV movies were pretty good & Dutton made a recognisable later version of the same character (Robert S. Baker was series consultant keeping the link back to Ogilvy & Moore days)
it's FAR better than that awful Val Kilmer codswallop film (Val thought so too & later apologised to Sir Rog about doing it..!!)
