A previously thought lost episode of Rediffusion's Groucho (1965), a quiz show starring the legendary Groucho Marx has been slated for release in a new DVD boxset collection of the Marx Brother's television appearances which has been compiled by Shout! Factory, apparently with the assistance of the Marx family. The set will be released in August in the US. The episode included in the collection was originally transmitted on July 1, 1965. Until this discovery, it was thought that no record of Groucho's ill-fated liaison with Rediffusion had survived. Full details of the set are at: insidepulse.com/2014/05/15/marx-brothers-tv-collection-brings-mayhem-in-august/

I remember watching that Rediffusion series!
Very interesting discovery if it's the same show, Ken. Are we sure this isn't a U.S. thing from the same period though? I suppose we shall find out when someone buys the set to see for themselves! The other question it prompts though is if it is the same show, are there any more episodes existing from the series and where are they held?

The GE theater thread was four years ago. True enough Kelly, and I've found-though I didn't bookmark it-claims that they were never actually lost/unknown/etc.In fact what often seems to happen when there's a big announcement about a find! At least they are safe...
