I presume that DLT's conviction, on one count of sexual assault, means that the BBC will now destroy all material they have in which he appears? In fact, I'm off to check that my copy of Convoy GB has not spontaneously combusted while my back was turned ... The 13/09/1979 episode is DLT, so next week they're skipping to the 20/09/1979 episode with Mike Reid. Sadly it means we will miss seeing the following: 13-9-79: Presenter: Dave Lee Travis (17) SISTER SLEDGE – Lost In Music (and charts) (26) NICK LOWE – Cruel To Be Kind (24) THE COMMODORES – Sail On (video) (23) FRANTIQUE – Strut Your Funky Stuff (danced to by Legs & Co) (2) GARY NUMAN – Cars ® (27) SECRET AFFAIR – Time For Action (30) GERRY RAFFERTY – Get It Right Next Time (video) (9) DOLLAR – Love’s Gotta Hold On Me (32) SQUEEZE – Slap And Tickle (21) JOHNNY MATHIS – Gone Gone Gone (with Gill from Legs & Co) ® (28) U.K. SUBS – Tomorrow’s Girls (1) CLIFF RICHARD – We Don’t Talk Anymore ® (14) THE STRANGLERS – Duchess (and credits) There's a great episode by episode listing here - TOTP episodes

Sidestep was a weekly pop music series produced by HTV West (Bristol) in 1984. I'm not sure if it was ever shown outside the region, but it managed to attract some reasonable groups during its run. It was hosted by a chap called Mick Brown and featured the singer/comedienne Eve Ferret. I was in the audience during one recording, which featured both Orange Juice and Captain Sensible. I did tape it on betamax, but sem to have mislaid the tape. A friend who also went to a few recordings may still have his tapes, and I've asked him to dig them out. Does anyone know if these still exist in the HTV West archive? I'm not sure where to look to check for myself, despite plenty of googling. Thanks.

This is my first post here, so hello! I've tried everything I can think of to track down a road crossing PIF from the seventies. There are multiple copies out there of the Keegan/Gray/Bugner/Stardust PIFs, but the one starring singer Joe Brown seems to be eluding me. Does anyone know if this exists, even in audio form? From memory, it goes something like this:
"Smashing car mate, whatya do nick it? "Oi! Not so much of your lip" "Come on Dave!" "Go and help your mate across the road" "He don't need 'elp, he knows the Green Cross Code." "Oh, yeah, and what's this Green Cross Code, then?" "All the kids round 'ere are learnin' it, we'll show ya. Oi, put yer 'andbrake on!" "First you find the safest place to cross, then stop." "Stand on the pavement near the kerb." Look all around for traffic, and listen." "If traffic is coming, let it pass, and then look all around again" "When it's safe, walk straight across the road and keep looking and listening for traffic while you cross" "So, that's the Green Cross Code, then?" "Yeah." "Oh! Well, how about seeing me safely back to my car, then?" "What's it worf, then, Joe?" "It's a good thing, this Green Cross Code!"
If nobody can help, I might even email Joe himself via his website, to see if he has a recording. Cheers.
