To answer someone's question, this was the first episode Einsfestival have shown in this run. They did show a compilation in November but it was mostly later stuff I think.
It's scheduled for May 18th too so it's starting to look like a proper run:
14.01.1972
Pegasus Barry Ryan T. Rex Knut Kiesewetter Teddy Brown Hermits Su Kramer Mike Brant Hardy Hepp

I expect this will have a video of Jeepster on it, judging by the date. It's a few weeks too early for Telegram Sam and too late for Get It On.

I expect this will have a video of Jeepster on it, judging by the date. It's a few weeks too early for Telegram Sam and too late for Get It On. I just noticed that the compilation they showed in November ended with T Rex doing Mambo Sun - I guess that would be about the right time. They did Jeepster on the 15/01/1972 episode of Disco - perhaps they did more than one song in this HAGG episode. I think this link shows the episodes the furthest ahead: programm.ard.de/TV/Programm/Suche?suche=hits+a+gogoThis suggests 26/04/14 and 03/05/14 are different episodes.

The repeat of Hits A Go Go shown this week included Status Quo 'In My Chair' ex-TOTP 22-10-70. Their best pre-Vertigo 45 in my opinion!

Moderators, can we change the thread to 'Hits a Go Go' TOTP finds, now, please. I expect there to be more.

'Re: the Beatles. I was told back in 1989 by this guy called Dave, who was from Wolverhampton, who presented himself as a Beatles expert, that there was a vault or a safe or some other kind secure storage at the BBC, that contained the very sort of material you mention. Now this guy fancied himself as an insider as far as Beatles "collectibles" went, both as video, vinyl, cd etc. He also used to carry round a briefcase which he'd never let anyone see the contents, so whether or not he really knew anything or was just puffing himself up, I don't know for sure ... but I know what I think.' Utter, utter rubbish. I worked at the BBC from 1976 to 1989, starting off in the Transcription Service, ending up in VT Current Operations (part of the Film + VT Library) at Television Centre and never heard even a whisper of such a thing. And, as an avid Beatles fan, I was always on the lookout for Beatles stuff and NEVER came across anything at all. ...............I do well remember however, when Bob Pratt dubbed me a 3 hour SVHS of various 'pop' stuff that he had kept, being blown away with the Beatles videos filmed in early 66 (I think) at TVi of all the stuff for Ed Sullivan (Ticket to Ride, Help!, I Feel Fine etc etc)-lovely stuff. I'd never see them before. Oh, that compilation included the 'Revolution' clip wit the live vocal - that blew me away as well! If only it had been fully 'live'. I read an interview with someone who works for the BBC that Beatles radio session material IS held in a secure vault, I think this may also have included material associated with the Royal family. Access to Beatles material was at the time only available with joint permission from the BBC and EMI.
