The blurb says:- ""London, 1968. Mr Showmanship himself, Liberace, starred in a live musical extravaganza entitled “Liberace in London”. Accompanied by a host of sensational talent such as The Tremeloes and The London Philharmonic Orchestra, this programme was the first to be transmitted by the new London production company Thames Television"" This means that, according to Fremantle, it would have been shown 30/07/1968 at 7pm or so (a Tuesday, I think). According to my search on their database, they DON'T have it.Repeat - DON'T.I am ringing them. Keep you posted. :/ Quite right,Ray. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Not that anyone saw much of the opening night thanks to industrial action. Good luck with the recovery!

I've just been told that this programme was originally shown on Tuesday 13th August 1968. So not the first day of Thames but an early transmission all the same. It would be nice to have this one back in the archives!

Thames (Fremantle I would say) believe that it's the first to be shown. I agree that it wasn't, but it was MEANT to be the first, that also seems to be the case.
Whatever the case may be, glad it's up on youtube, and I should be able to let people know next week what's going on, I hope.

Fremantle do not have a copy. They would like one.
I have contacted the poster. I am awaiting a reply.
In the meantime I have a copy downloaded from youtube (a safety measure. Thanks Chris!)

Beat of luck with it Ray...!
Re The Tremeloes
- There is a good 'Greatest Hits' DVD (all regions) issued in Europe with alot of good footage of songs - some album tracks besides the hits included plus a few songs from a European performance including a Trems new version of; 'Someone, Someone' from the old Brian Poole days...
I also have on VHS tape (in not good condition sadly) the 'Here Hear' (I think it's called) performance set of four live songs with Bob Benham on guitar/vocals in place of Alan Blakeley alongside Chip Hawkes, Dave Munden, & Rick Westwood - I think it's from Grampian TV. They do; 'Helule Helule', 'Hello Buddy', another country style song (maybe either; 'Good Lovin' Gal' or 'Bad Timin Man'?) and 'Twist & Shout' (sung by Dave with Chip Hawkes on drums !)
there is also a b/w three songs set from circa 1967 on German 'Beat Club' or 'Beat Beat Beat' of the classic line up in concert doing 'Here Comes My Baby', 'Lovin' You (is Sweeter than Ever)' & 'Silence is Golden' plus BBC screened a later colour (seventies) version of them with beards etc singing 'Silence is Golden'
I also have - again sadly not in brilliant condition (copied to VHS from old Beta tapes yonks ago) - them on 'Unforgettable' (ITV) in the 80's singing; 'Silence..', & '(Call Me) Number One' introduced by Alan 'Fluff' Freeman (not arf !)
I'd Love to see this rare Liberace show featuring The Tremeloes get a DVD release if at all possible...!
