Edge I think is brilliant. David Whitaker is one of my favourite Who writers.

The Daleks is the reason that Doctor Who survived the next year and then the next 25 years as well! And as someone who still holds them in the highest regard and marvels at their appearance, I had no other choice but to vote for them tinkers from Skaro!

Exterminate!
However, I like The Aztecs, The Sensorites, and The Reign of Terror a lot too.

Had to be Marco Polo for me that's the one that I remember more of from original transmission. It could have been the Daleks but the film gave me false memories of the TV version.

All excellent. Keys of Marinus is my favourite though.

If we take An Unearthly Child as a standalone story, then that has to be my favourite from series 1 by a long margin, purely for the staggering futuristic imagination and promise it offered for the future. It's also the best realised. Otherwise, it's The Daleks or The Aztecs for me as the best dramas told engagingly (in their different ways).

Unearthly Child could of sank that quick as well if it was not for the good acting and script ! Though the pilot had to be done again ! I felt that The show may of well succeeded due the the 1950s being the Sci Fi Decade in the United States, and was over here as well. People wanted something new i guess. But feel as most do the Daleks clinched its success !

The Keys of Marinus, for its sheer breadth of scale and imagination. You can't beat a good quest story!
